Mineral drug probe leads to arrest

Second suspect being sought

KEYSER, W.Va. — One person was jailed and another person was being sought Sunday following a narcotics investigation that included a searching of several houses and a business in the Furnace Acres area.

Christian Thomas Hunt, 22, of Ridgeley remained jailed Sunday at the Potomac Highlands Regional Jail after he was served an arrest warrant charging him with delivery of a controlled substance.

Hunt was being held without bond.

Hunt was arrested on a warrant charging him with delivery of a controlled substance after he turned himself in early Sunday to West Virginia State Police at Keyser.

A second suspect, believed to be from the Ridgeley area, was expected to be arrested and charged on Tuesday, according to a sheriff’s office spokesman.

The investigation that led to the charges was conducted by the Mineral County Sheriff’s Office with assistance of the Potomac Highlands Drug Task Force. Residences in Short Gap and Patterson Creek were searched along with the Furnace Acres business.

Police said the investigation concerned delivery of marijuana and prescription pills.
