GIBSONIA, Pa. — Brittany James and Caryn Wright, the only seniors on the Frostburg State women’s basketball team, earned All-Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference honors on Tuesday.
James, a 5-foot-10 forward, was selected first-team all-conference, while Wright, a 5-9 center, was named to the second team. Both scored their 1,000th career point this season.
James, of Baltimore and Milford Mill High, finished fifth in the league in scoring (15.5), was fourth in rebounds (10.7) and steals (2.5) and third in field goal percentage (52.5 percent). She had a career high 13 double-doubles.
Wright, of Baltimore and Western Tech, averaged 13.3 points and ranked second in the conference in field goal shooting (53.6) and was fifth in rebounds (9.6).
The FSU women were 19-8 overall and 15-5 in the conference.
Koffa, Anderson earn men’s team honors
Juniors Busha Koffa and Brian Anderson, who helped lead the Frostburg State men’s team to a 17-win season, were named to the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference teams.
Koffa, a 6-4 forward/center, was voted to the first team. Anderson, a 6-1 guard, received honorable mention.
Koffa, of Germantown and Seneca Valley High, averaged 11.2 points and ranked fourth in the AMCC in rebounding with 6.8 per game. He scored in double figures in 15 games, and had five double-doubles. He was named to all-tournament team earlier this year at the V-Foundation Classic in Roanoke, Va.
Anderson, of Perry Hall and Eastern Tech, was 14th in the conference in scoring (13.1), was third in steals (1.9), sixth in assists (3.3) and eighth in foul shooting (79 percent). He scored in double figures in 18 games and had a season-high 28 points in the Bobcats’ 106-93 win over Mt. Aloysius.
Frostburg State, which will be moving to the Capital Athletic Conference next year, finished 17-9 and led the AMCC in scoring, averaging 78.6 points per game.
Freshman named to conference swim team
Frostburg State freshman Trevor Kozlow was named first-team All-AMCC for his performances in the 200-yard individual medley and the 400-yard individual medley after capturing conference championships in both events.
Kozlow, of Columbia and Wilde Lake High, won the 200 individual medley in 2:00.79 and won he 400 with an AMCC championship meet record time of 4:22.05.
In the 1,650-yard freestyle, senior Jack Hudson was awarded second team all-conference after taking second in the AMCC with a time of 18:05.88.
Among the FSU women, senior Thirza Roberto, of Pasadena, earned second-team all-conference after being runner-up in the 100 backstroke (1:12.87) and 200-yard backstroke (2:18.68).
The FSU men had a 5-7 record the women were 3-10.

Haylie Harper and Bethany Hansel hit home runs, the pitchers allowed no runs and the defense made no errors as Potomac State defeated Beaver County and Westmoreland on Saturday and moved to within one game of winning the Western Pennsylvania Collegiate Conference Tournament.
