Phyllis Snyder Brode [Elizabeth]

February 17, 2010 — ELIZABETH, Pa. — Phyllis Snyder Brode, 78, of Elizabethtown, Pa., died on Monday, Feb. 22, 2010, at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital, Philadelphia.

Born in Frostburg, she was the daughter of the late James Cobey Snyder and Ethel Duckworth Snyder. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Paul Cobey and James Oliver Snyder; a sister, Wilma Snyder Dogan; and son-in-law, Ronald Kasprzyk.

Phyllis retired in 1999 from her position as Indexing Librarian at the National Fire Academy, Emmitsburg.

She was a resident of Frederick for 47 years. While living in Frederick, she was an active and faithful member of Calvary United Methodist Church. Since moving to Elizabethtown, she has been a member of Milton Grove United Methodist Church.

Phyllis is survived by her husband of 58 years, Harold; and three daughters, Debra Brode Kasprzyk, Kathy Brode, wife of David Shissler, and Cynthia Brode Smith, wife of Richard Smith. Also surviving is a grandson, Aubrey Brode Greer and wife Holly, of Nashville, Tenn.; one sister, Shirley Snyder Phillips, of Charlottesville, Va.; and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, Feb. 26, 2010, at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery at 2:30 p.m.
