Hattenfield, Burkett wedding

07/10/11 — CUMBERLAND — Jessica Sue Burkett and Zachary David Hattenfield were united in marriage on the afternoon of July 10, 2010, at Cornerstone Baptist Church. The double ring ceremony was performed by Pastors David Hattenfield and George Hattenfield, father and grandfather of the groom.

Jessica is the daughter of Robert and Sandra Burkett of Hyndman, Pa. She is the granddaughter of John and Grace Emerick of Hyndman and the late Walter and Gladys Burkett of Hyndman.

Zachary is the son of David and LoAnna Hattenfield of Cumberland. He is the grandson of George and Jean Hattenfield of Columbus, Ohio, and Ann Hamilton and the late Robert Hamilton of Columbus.

The bride was escorted down the aisle by her father and given in marriage by her parents.  She wore a strapless, chiffon dress with a side draped bodice, beaded lace, and lace-up back. The A-line skirt had a sweep train. The veil was fingertip length with white trim and was borrowed from the bride’s sister-in-law, Pamela Burkett. Her jewelry included a diamond and pearl heart necklace and a bracelet that was a gift from the groom.  The bride carried a bouquet of light pink roses.

Sara Burkett, sister-in-law and friend of the bride, served as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Erin Fike, friend of the bride; Jessica Hattenfield, sister of the groom; Rebecca Larson, sister of the groom; and Lindsey Kraft, friend of the bride. The bridesmaids wore clover, short chiffon and charmeuse dresses with a flower applique detail at the waist. The gowns were accented by silver and pearl necklaces which were gifts from the bride.

Derek Wheeler, friend of the groom, served as best man.  Groomsmen were Derek Hockman, friend of the groom; Jeremy Chandler, cousin of the groom; and Jesse Hartsock, friend of the groom. The tuxedos were provided by Tuxedo, Etc.

The guestbook attendants were Tierra Daley and Katie Glenn, friends of the bride. Photography of the ceremony and reception was provided by Renee Mihailovich and the videographers were Dennis and Amy Durr. Piano music for the ceremony was provided by Laura Godfrey. A duet was performed by Chris and Diane Bean to the song “I Will Be Here” by Steven Curtis Chapman during the lighting of the unity candle.

All the wedding events were coordinated by Alicia White. Harry Fike, friend of the bride and groom, served as the master of ceremony during the reception. All flowers were designed and provided by the bride’s sister-in-law, Pamela Burkett, and Jennifer Derham.

The bride’s parents hosted the reception following the ceremony in the fellowship hall of Cornerstone Baptist Church. John and Grace Emerick, grandparents of the bride, were recognized as the longest married couple and a picture slideshow of the bride and groom’s lives, from childhood through their engagement, was presented.

The wedding cake was three tiers decorated with fresh flowers and accented by a bride and groom cake topper.  The cake was baked and decorated by Bonnie Wilson.

Jessica is a 2003 home school graduate and a 2005 graduate of Allegany College of Maryland. She is currently employed at the Thomas B. Finan Center.

Zachary is a 2005 graduate of Calvary Christian Academy and a 2009 graduate of Frostburg State University. He is currently employed at Fike, Connor, and Associates, P.A.

Following a honeymoon in Montego Bay, Jamaica, the couple now reside in Cumberland.

    Robert Jeffrey Bonser and Rebecca Kathleen Mathews were united in marriage Sept. 3, 2012 in an outdoor ceremony at the Hayloft in Rockwood. The groom’s father, Pastor Robert Bonser, presided over the double ring ceremony and delivered a message from Genesis 2:15-25 entitled “A Bond of Grace.”

    On Oct. 15, 2011, Amber Corinne Bailey and Tyler Patrick Larkin were united in marriage in front of family and friends. The double ring ceremony took place at Centre Street United Methodist Church, which was the church of the bride’s childhood. The Rev. Ann W. Atkins, pastor of Centre Street United Methodist Church, performed the double ring ceremony. Heather Haines, church organist, provided music for the traditional Christian ceremony.

A retired sergeant major of the United States Marine Corps, Shon serves as a bishop in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Fredericksburg, Va.
