Kline, Tichnell wedding

CUMBERLAND — On Aug. 13, 2011, Lara Louise Tichnell and Aaron John Kline were united in marriage in front of their closest friends and family. The double ring ceremony took place at Christ United Methodist Church in Cumberland,  with the Rev. Harold McClay officiating. The bride’s parents also were wed by Rev. McClay on June 26, 1976. Likewise, the groom’s parents were married at Christ United Methodist Church on April 8, 1977.

The bride is the daughter of Bob and Cathy Tichnell of Cumberland. Lara is the granddaughter of Helen Tichnell, Cumberland, and the late Arnold Tichnell and Herb and Mary Louise Triplett.

The groom is the son of Bill and Cathy Kline of BelAir. Aaron is the grandson of Bill and Grace Kline, Bedford, Pa., and the late Gerald and Alice Lee “Babe” Miller.

The bride was given in marriage by her parents and escorted to the altar by her father. Lara wore an Alfred Angelo designed strapless A-line gown with a beaded bodice and pickups around the skirt. She also wore a crystal and fresh water pearl headband. Her jewelry selection for the day was a diamond and pearl droplet necklace and matching pearl earrings given to her by the groom and worn as her something new. Her something old was Aaron’s christening bonnet, given to him by his Aunt Rosie, that converted into his bride’s hanky. Attached to the hanky was a broach that once belonged to her grandmother, Mary Louise Triplett. Lara’s something borrowed was Aaron’s mothers ring given to her by Bill on the day of Aaron’s birth. Her something blue was a pair of fun sparkly blue shoes!

Lara carried a bouquet of her favorite roses, daisies and hydrangeas in light yellows and blues. Her bridesmaids carried small round bouquets of yellow and white daisies. The groom and his men also wore small yellow and white rose boutonnieres.

Serving as matron of honor was Abby Rader, sister of the bride. Abby wore a floor-length chiffon dress in midnight blue. The maid of honor was Liz Hanna, cousin of the bride. The attending bridesmaids were Tiffany Furbee, Lara’s sorority sister, and Jeanette Mills, close friend of the bride. Each of the ladies wore a different style dress all in cornflower blue from David’s Bridal, Altoona, Pa.

Serving as the best men were, Wes Kline, brother of the groom and Bryan Hansel, longtime best friends of the groom. The groomsmen were Mike Thrower and Ronnie Klein, doctoral classmates of the groom.

Audrey and Alyssa Rader, nieces of the bride, served as the flower girls and Camden Kline, nephew of the groom, served as the ring bearer.

Musical selections were played before, during and after the wedding ceremony by LeAnn Martin.

The wedding programs were handed out by Clair and Ava Topper, cousins of the groom. The attendance book was handled by Caley Topper, cousin of the groom.

Bobby Adams of Adams Funeral Home also graciously donated one of this limousines as a gift to the bride and groom.

A reception was held immediately after the ceremony at the Cumberland Country Club. A buffet-style dinner was served by the club and a four -tiered cake was made by Bonnie Goebel of Mount Savage. The cake was decorated with fresh daisies. Centerpieces were all designed by the bride and were varying leveled glass filled with fresh lemons and baby’s breath. The head table was adorned with square vases with yellow roses.

DJ Mark Stevens provided great music to help us celebrate into the night. The bride and groom danced their first dance to “The Day Before You” by The Rascal Flatts. Lara and her dad danced to “My Little Girl” by Tim McGraw, and Aaron and his mom danced to “Wind Beneath My Wings” by Barbara Streisand. Jimmy Hook of Hook Photography chronicled the entire day for us.

The bride was given two showers prior to her big day. Her mother and sister threw her a wonderful shower at Christ United Methodist with most of her friends and family in attendance. Closer to the big day, the groom’s mother hosted a beach honeymoon shower for the couple. The couple received numerous gifts to help on their week-long honeymoon at Myrtle Beach, S.C.

The evening prior to the wedding the bridal party and immediate families attended a rehearsal dinner at Fratelli’s in LaVale, hosted by the groom’s parents.

The couple currently resides in Garner, N.C. They recently made the move after Aaron received his doctorate in physical therapy from St. Francis University. He is currently employed with Advanced Physical Therapy of Smithfield, N.C.

Aaron and Lara would like to thank their families and friends for making their big day so unforgettable. Also a special thank you to their mothers and Pam Lease and Pam Detrick of the Cumberland Country Club for all the amazing help and guidance throughout the planning process.
