Redman, Ogle wedding

BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va. — Shannon Nichole Ogle and JC Redman were united in marriage Sept. 10, 2011, at Cacapon Resort State Park, Berkeley Springs. The Rev. Susan W. Taylor served as officiant.

The bride is the daughter of Kevin and Janice Ogle of Cumberland, Md. She is the granddaughter of Betty Ogle, Cumberland, the late Ralph Ogle, and the late Daniel and Johanna Bridges.

The groom is the son of Don and Carol Redman of Cumberland. He is the grandson of the late John and Viola Redman, the late Charlie and Ruth Black, and the late John and Betty Griffiths.

Escorted down the aisle by her father, the bride wore a beautiful empire-style, princess line bustier gown in all re-embroidered lace by Forever Yours. She carried a lovely hand-tied bouquet composed of spray roses, mini calla lilies, kangaroo paw, freesia and hypericum berries.

The groom wore a champagne-colored suit and jacket, accented by a truffle brown tie and handkerchief pocket square.

Serving as matron of honor was Heather (Ogle) Gale, sister of the bride. Kara (Rice) White and Sarah Pinardi, both long-time friends of the bride, served as bridesmaids. The women wore strapless empire-style dresses  sporting a hi-low hemline in chiffon and satin by Alfred Angelo; Heather was in claret, Kara in sunshine and Sarah in burnt orange, matching the bride’s fall theme.

Serving as best man was Jody Eversole, best friend of the groom. Chris Weber, also best friend of the groom, served as the lone groomsman, but was better known as the “groom’s pimp” by the bridal party, as he was given the task of escorting two bridesmaids down the aisle. The men wore suits in the same style and color as the groom.

The reception immediately followed at Cacapon Resort State Park’s Bath House. A buffet dinner was catered by the resort’s restaurant staff.

The wedding and groom’s cakes were created by Heaven Sent Cakes and Sweets, Berkeley Springs. The wedding cake consisted of three tiers of marbleized chocolate, strawberry and vanilla batter, otherwise know as Neapolitan. The groom’s cake was two single layers of German chocolate, in honor of the bride’s father, who celebrated a milestone birthday the day prior to the wedding.

Flowers for the ceremony were created by CJ’s Floral & Gift Shop, Berkeley Springs. Photography was provided by John Bone, Cumberland. Entertainment at the reception was provided by Don Davis of Life’s a Dance Disc Jockey Service and Productions, Hagerstown, Md.

Shannon is a 1999 graduate of Allegany High School, a 2003 graduate of Frostburg State University, with a bachelor of fine art and design and has completed additional graduate study at Savannah College of Art and Design. She is currently employed by Allegany College of Maryland, Cumberland.

JC is a 1996 graduate of Allegany High School and 2008 graduate of Allegany College of Maryland with an associate of applied science degree in hotel and restaurant management. He is currently employed by the Fairfield Inn and Suites, Cumberland.

The couple reside in Cumberland with “Courtney,” one of their two Pembroke Welsh corgis.

A message from JC and Shannon: “We would like to thank all of our friends and family for the guidance, support and love they’ve provided over the years. We wouldn’t be where we are today if it weren’t for you. It’s been a long journey (today marks 11 years for us as a couple!!), but we are thrilled to have finally taken the next step and are eager to begin a new journey through life together, as husband and wife.”
