HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. — On April 9, 2011, Jennifer Michelle Cook and Robert Dean Hall Jr. were united in marriage. The double ring ceremony took place on South Forest Beach, Hilton Head Island, with Ronald Burd as officiant.
The bride is the daughter of James and Sandra Cook of Cresaptown. Jennifer is the granddaughter of Mary Angela Cook, Cresaptown, and the late Lindergh Cook, and the late James and Mary Catherine Walton.
The groom is the son of Connie Walsh of Stafford, Va., and Robert Hall of Ocklawaha, Fla. Robert is the grandson of John and Joanne Vasaar of Bishop, Calif., and Dean Hall of Atchison, Kan.
The bride was given in marriage by her parents and escorted to the altar by her father. She wore a Maggie Sottero, ivory and mocha A-line, strapless gown with dipped neckline and corset closure. Her dress had corded lace over satin embellished with swarovski crystal and pearl flowers and a banded natural waist. She wore a silk flower with swarovski crystals and pearls in her hair. The bride’s jewelry consisted of a Tiffany & Company silver heart and tear-drop pearl necklace, a gift from the groom, and diamond and tear-drop pearl earrings, a gift from her parents.
The bride carried a round long-stem bouquet of light blue hydrangeas and white calla lilies. Baby pink roses with pearl detailed centers were added to the bouquet in remembrance of her late grandmother, Mary Catherine Walton. The stems were held together with braided tan satin ribbon accented with pearl details.
The groom wore his United States Navy, khaki chief petty officer uniform.
Serving as maid of honor was Andria Cook, sister of the bride. Andria wore a light blue floor length, one shoulder, chiffon gown with flower details. The maid of honor carried a long-stem round bouquet of light blue hydrangeas and white calla lilies.
Serving as best man was Mathias Shreve, friend of the groom. Mathias wore his United States Navy uniform.
Savannah Walton Alt, cousin of the bride, served as flower girl. Savannah wore an ivory gown embellished with a pearl and sequin flower waistband.
Trisha Sagers, friend of the bride read “The Art of a Good Marriage” by Wilfred Arlan Peterson during the ceremony.
The bride and groom led their guests in reciting “The Lord’s Prayer” in loving memory of the bride’s late grandmother, Mary Catherine Walton, late grandfather, Lindbergh Cook, and the bride’s late cousin, James Pitzer Walton III.
Musical selections were played before, during, and after the wedding ceremony by Owen Poteat of North Carolina.
A reception immediately followed the ceremony on the back deck and lawn of an oceanfront beach house in Hilton Head Island. The buffet-style dinner included a chilled shrimp display, Maryland-style crab cakes and pineapple grilled chicken that was catered by Celebrations Catering and Events. A three-tier, sever-layer wedding cake was provided by Signe’s Heaven Bound Bakery. Centerpieces and bouquets were designed by Henry Kretchmer from The Flower Garden. Photography was provided by Carrie Friesen. Alison Weinman from Celebrations Catering and Events served as wedding coordinator for the day’s events. All arrangements were provided through local businesses in Hilton Head Island.
Owen Poteat entertained with live music during the reception. The bride and groom danced their first dance to “Then” by Brad Paisley. Jennifer danced with her father to “The Way You Look Tonight” by Frank Sinatra. Robert danced with his mother to “Do I Make You Proud” by Taylor Hicks.
A second reception was hosted by the bride’s parents on April 30, 2011, at The Maplehurst Country Club in Frostburg, Md. A buffet-style dinner was provided. Cupcakes and a one-tier cake, topped with white chocolate seashells were brought by the bride and groom from Signe’s Heaven Bound Bakery in Hilton Head Island. Photography was provided by Kelly Messick. Reception music was provided by DJ Johnny Rock.
A surprise shower was given in the bride’s honor by her mother and sister at Sand Springs Saloon in Frostburg.
The couple made a cross-country move closely following their marriage to the Naval Air Station in Lemoore, Calif., where they currently reside with their two golden retrievers, Roxy and Jinx.
Jennifer and Robert would like to thank their parents, family and friends for making their wedding weekend unforgettable.
