AVILTON — Lori Ann (Morris) Lutton and Charles David Laffey were united in matrimony on Friday, Aug. 28, 2009, at 6 p.m. at Wilhelm’s Recreational Center in Avilton. The Rev. Stephen Carr united them as husband and wife with all of their children as witnesses in an outdoor wedding ceremony.
Lori is the daughter of Mr. John Thomas Morris Sr. of Egle Nursing and Rehab Center, Lonaconing, and formerly of Westernport, and the late C. Joann “Bunny” Morris. She is employed by the Board of Education of Allegany County as a secretary at Westmar Middle School in Lonaconing.
Charlie is the son of the late Jerome and Margaret Laffey, also of Westernport. He is employed by the United States Postal Service as Postmaster in Keyser, W.Va.
A memorial candle and pictures were displayed in honor of their deceased parents.
Mrs. Janet Morris, sister-in-law of the bride, sang “The Wedding Song” by Paul Stockey for the processional.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride was escorted down the aisle by her son, Dane Lutton.
The wedding party was made up of Erin Miller, daughter of the groom, and her husband, Sam Miller; Caitlin Laffey, daughter of the groom, and her fiancé, Justin Robison; Reid Robison, grandson of the groom; Dane Lutton, son of the bride; Tessa Lutton, daughter of the bride; and Emily Lutton, step-daughter of the bride.
A dinner reception catered by Gerry Miller followed the ceremony. Music was provided by Brett Goss DJ Services. Kathy Beeman made the three-tiered wedding cake, which was cut and served by Pam Barb and Jennifer Henry, friends of the bride. Decorations and flowers, which consisted of dark pink, orange and yellow Gerber daisies, were arranged by Delsie Fazenbaker, Erin Miller and Crystal Weimer. Photography was provided by Katie Brenneman of Sonlight Imaging. A toast in honor of the couple was given by Tom Morris Jr., brother of the bride, and Dane Lutton, son of the bride. The bride and groom danced their first dance to Kenny Chesney’s “You Had Me at Hello.”
Mr. and Mrs. Laffey took a belated honeymoon to the Monterey Peninsula and Sonoma Valley areas of California. They reside in Rawlings.
Charlie and Lori would like to thank their children, family and friends for sharing their special day.
