KEYSER, W.Va. — Amy Lynn Poe and Gene Calvin Clem III were united in marriage on Saturday, Nov. 22, 2008. The 4:30 p.m. ceremony was held at Keyser Presbyterian Church and was officiated by Pastor Ernest Lee Poland.
The bride is the daughter of Rich and Sarah Poe of Cumberland. Grandparents of the bride are Dick and Helen Poe of Cumberland and Fred Warnick, Westernport, and the late Jean Warnick. The groom is the son of the late Gene C. Clem II of Keyser, Pamela Lee of Martinsburg and the stepson of Dennis Lee of Rawlings.
The bride was given in marriage by her parents and escorted down the aisle by her father. The bride wore a pearl dress by Mori Lee. The bodice had a strapless, sweetheart neckline, with a ruched A-line skirt, and a chapel train. Her bouquet was an arrangement of blush roses.
The groom wore a Ralph Lauren black tuxedo with an ivory shirt, black vest and black tie.
Serving as matron of honor was Kathryn Lewis, sister of the bride. The maid of honor was Darcy Poe, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids included Leah Warnick, cousin of the bride, and Jeannie Ohler, friend of the bride. Junior bridesmaid was Rachael Warnick, cousin of the bride, and flower girl Andi Ward, cousin of the bride.
The bridesmaids wore tea-length truffle dresses designed by David’s Bridal. The flower girl wore and ivory dress designed by Mori Lee.
Serving as best man was Chris Toey, friend of the groom. Groomsmen included Drew Green, Josh Crowe and Trenton Lewis, all friends of the groom. Junior groomsman was Elijah Clem, cousin of the groom, and ringbearer was Reece Clem, cousin of the groom.
The groomsmen wore black Ralph Lauren tuxedos with ivory shirts and mocha vests and ties.
The music before, during and after the ceremony was provided by Chip Rice, organist, Royce Warnick, trumpeter, and Candi Mann, vocalist.
Following the ceremony, guests were invited to the Holiday Inn for a sit-down dinner and dance. The bride and groom shared their first dance as husband and wife to “Groovy Kind of Love” by Phil Collins. The bride and her father danced to “Butterfly Kisses” by Bob Carlisle and the groom and his mother danced to “Adrift“ by Jack Johnson. Jim Corley provided the music for the evening.
The reception area was decorated with different arrangements of fall flowers. Eiffel towers were used as centerpieces and were created by Georges Creek Florist. The four-tier wedding cake was made by Diane Cooper of Mimi D’s Catering. Denise Whitlock created the bouquets and arrangements for the wedding party. Carla Rice of Guided by Grace Images was the photographer for the evening.
Amy is a 2004 graduate of Fort Hill High School and obtained her associate of applied science degree in dental hygiene from Allegany College of Maryland. Amy is currently employed by Wilson Martino Dental as a registered dental hygienist.
Gene is a 2001 graduate of Westmar High School and a 2007 summa cum laude graduate of West Virginia University with a bachelor of science degree in medical technology. Gene is currently in his third year of dental school at West Virginia University and will graduate in May 2011 with his doctor of dental surgery degree.
The couple honeymooned in Montego Bay, Jamaica. Theycurrently reside in Morgantown.
