JOHN’S ISLAND, S.C. — Mr. and Mrs. John and Debby Little and Mr. and Mrs. Randy and Marion Kammauf are thrilled to announce the marriage of their children Laura Louise and Ryan Michael on June 3, 2011.
In a sunset ceremony on the banks of the Stono River, John’s Island, the couple was married at The Island House. Mary Jane Turner, the bride’s aunt, performed the ceremony.
Laura and Ryan were attended by Matron of Honor Meredith Breidenstein, sister of the bride and Best Man, Tyler Kammauf, brother of the groom.
Bridesmaids were Amber Antel, Reagin Curlee, Kelly Damiano, Jennifer Gintz, Katie Janes and Alison Jordan.
Groomsmen were Jason Hansel, Josh Jordan, Jason Ricker, Jared Skidmore and Brad Stafford.
Carrying a banner announcing the bride were Master Hobbs Breidenstein and Master Leland Kammauf. Music for the ceremony was provided by guitarist Steve Liller. Special remembrance was paid to the couple’s friend, Brook Robinson.
Escorted to the altar by her father, and given in marriage by her parents, the bride was dressed in a strapless ivory gown with crystals accenting the bodice.
The groom was attired in white linen and grey.
Bouquets and boutonnieres were made by the bride from the field of flowers surrounding The Island House.
The bride is the daughter of John and Debby Little of Mauldin of South Carolina and the granddaughter of Dr. and Mrs. Thomas Turner. Dr. Turner offered a prayer to begin the ceremony. She is also the granddaughter of Louise Little and the late John Little Jr.
The groom is the son of Randy and Marion Kammauf of Sun City West, Ariz., formerly of Cumberland, Md. Ryan is the grandson of Norman Murphey and the late Irene Murphey, Ward Guilbert and Ray and Anne Kammauf.
A reception for the 250 guests followed the ceremony under lighted tents on the lawn of The Island House, with panoramic views of the Stono River. The bride and groom danced to “I Will” by the Beatles and the bride and her father shagged to “Carolina Girl.” Catering the dinner was “Rita’s.” Individual desserts took the place of a traditional wedding cake.
After dining, dancing and an evening with family and friends, the couple departed by way of a sparkler lit path to the river. A waiting boat whisked the happy couple away to begin their new life.
Upon return from a honeymoon in Barbados. the couple resides in Charleston, where Laura is a special education teacher for Charleston County Schools and Ryan is the coastal sales manager for Bio-Tech Environmental.
Wedding showers hosted by friends, family and the bridal party took place in Simpsonville, Charleston and Folly Beach.
A summer celebration for the couple was hosted in Cumberland by Jim, Kathy and Brad Stafford and Michael and Lynelle Brant.

A retired sergeant major of the United States Marine Corps, Shon serves as a bishop in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Fredericksburg, Va.
