Slider, Stott wedding

FRIENDSVILLE — Miranda Lynne Stott and William Jesse Slider III were united in marriage on Aug. 9, 2008, at Chanteclaire Farm in Friendsville. The double ring ceremony was officiated by Dr. Pastor Merle Correll and was held overlooking a pond at Chanteclaire Farm.

The bride is the daughter of Theodore and Cynthia Stott of Cumberland and the granddaughter of Helen Casteel of LaVale and the late Charles Casteel Sr. and Richard Stott of Frostburg and the late Corrina Stott.

The groom is the son of William and Debbie Slider of Oldtown and Susan Slider of Paw Paw, W.Va., and the grandson of the late William and Elva Slider of Oldtown and Donald and JoAnn Largent of Paw Paw.

The bride was given in marriage by her parents and escorted to the altar by her father. She wore a champagne and gold strapless Mori Lee gown with taffeta trim and swarovski crystals and carried a bouquet of white calla lilies wrapped in a handkerchief which was given to her by the groom’s’ family to carry in remembrance of his late great-grandmother, Lucy Gordon. The bride wore an antique cross given to her by her mother. This cross was also worn by the bride’s grandmother and mother on their wedding days.

The groom wore a chocolate brown tuxedo with a matching champagne vest provided by Lennox East. Before the ceremony, the groom’s father presented him with a watch which had belonged to the groom’s grandfather.

The country-themed wedding and reception were coordinated by Fred and Christine Bergheim, owners of Chanteclaire Farm.

Serving as maid of honor was Jessica Casteel, cousin of the bride, Cresaptown. Bridesmaids were Andrea Amezcua, friend of the bride, Corriganville, and Kasey Slider, sister of the groom, Paw Paw. The bridesmaids wore clover green Mori Lee dresses with a gold overlay which complemented the bride’s gown and carried bouquets of yellow roses.

Serving as best man was Bryant Joiner, friend of the groom, Frostburg. Groomsmen were Robert Dettinburn, brother of the groom, Cumberland, and Ryan Stott, brother of the bride, Cresaptown. The groomsmen wore chocolate brown tuxedos with clover vests provided by Lennox East.

Vocalist for the ceremony was Ms. Erin Briskey, friend of the bride, Frostburg. She was accompanied by the bride’s brother, Ryan Stott, in her version of Allison Krauss’ song, “When You Say Nothing at All.”

Flower girls were Audree and Tessa Carpenter, cousins of the groom, Capon Bridge, W.Va. The flower girls wore clover green dresses with a lace overlay, handmade by the groom’s aunt, Vicky Carpenter. Serving as ring bearer was Liam Moran, friend of the groom, Keyser, W.Va. Programs and fans were distributed by Emma and Sarah Stratton, nieces of the groom, LaVale.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Chanteclaire Farm in both levels of a restored 1890s barn. Guests enjoyed music provided by Sounds Fun Entertainment and a dinner buffet prepared by Christine Bergheim. Asiatic lilies in shades of yellow and orange arranged in antique bottles created centerpieces for the tables and oil lamps illuminated the barn. Photography was provided by Picture Images Studio in Short Gap, W.Va. The wedding cake, also prepared by Christine Bergheim, was a white three-tier chocolate chip and vanilla cake accented by fresh yellow and orange lilies. Floral arrangements were provided by Martin’s Floral Department in LaVale.

A bridal shower was held in honor of the bride at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Frostburg. The rehearsal dinner was arranged by the groom’s family and held at the Sliders’ family home in Oldtown.

Following the wedding, the couple honeymooned in Montego Bay, Jamaica. They currently reside in Cumberland with their yorkie, Ava.

Miranda and Billy would like to thank their parents, family, and friends, as well as Fred and Christine Bergheim, owners of Chanteclaire Farm, for all their generosity, love and support in creating such a picture perfect day.
