CUMBERLAND — On Oct. 30, 2010, Jenna Lyn Watson and Sheldon Ryan Shope were united in marriage. The double ring ceremony took place at First Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Robert Gamble officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Linn Watson, LaVale, and the late Sharon Watson. Jenna is the granddaughter of Richard Watson, Cumberland, and the late Mary Lou Watson and the late Carole and Omer Miller.
The groom is the son of Gary and Linda Shope, Cumberland, and Pam and Dave Walker, Dallas, Texas. Ryan is the grandson of Charles and Bettie Bujac, Cumberland, and the late Earl and Martha Shope.
The bride was given in marriage and escorted to the altar by her father. She wore a strapless satin fit and flare gown with corset closure and lace and flower embellishments. The bride also wore an elbow-length veil outlined in rhinestones. The bride carried a bouquet of white roses and stephanotis, with a golden cross necklace belonging to her late mother entwined in the stems of the bouquet.
The groom wore a black tuxedo with a silver vest and matching tie.
Serving as maid of honor was Sara Watson, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Jackie Laffey, Katie Smith, Erica Bittner, Alyssa Irons and Jessica George, all friends of the bride. The bridesmaids wore plum chiffon gowns with a halter neckline, off-the-shoulder sleeves, ruched waist band and pleated skirts. The bridesmaids carried bouquets of lavender roses and dahlias.
Serving as best man was Gary Shope, father of the groom. Groomsmen were Shaun Miller, Bryan Ray, Nathan Dillon and Nathan Wigger, friends of the groom, and Jason Sidaway, cousin of the groom. Ushers for the ceremony were Shane McDade, cousin of the bride and Dustin Sipes, friend of the groom. Groomsmen and ushers wore black tuxedos with plum vests and matching ties.
Kennedy Koelker, cousin of the bride, served as flower girl. Kennedy wore a lavender satin and tulle spaghetti strap gown with a plum ribbon at the waist. She carried a white basket of lavender rose petals. Graison Koelker, cousin of the bride, served as ring bearer. Graison wore a black tuxedo with a silver vest, matching the groom.
Meghan McNeelege and Katie Elkins, cousins of the bride, attended the guest book and handed out programs.
A single white rose adorned with a dragonfly was placed on the front pew in memory of the bride’s mother.
A reception immediately followed the ceremony at the Cumberland Country Club. A buffet-style dinner was provided. The three-tier wedding cake was provided by M&M Bakery. Bouquets were designed by Flowerland. Korizma Salon provided hairstyling for the bridal party. Photography was provided by Kirsten Dixon Photography.
Reception music was provided by DJ Jim Corley. The bride and groom danced their first dance to “My Best Friend” by Tim McGraw. Jenna danced with her father to “I Loved Her First” by Heartland. Ryan danced with his mother to “A Song for My Son” by Donna Lee Honeywell.
A rehearsal dinner was provided by the groom’s mother and stepfather at Sand Springs Steakhouse in Frostburg. A bridal shower was given in the bride’s honor at the Knights of Columbus by her sister and aunts, Michelle McDade and Nancy Billard.
The couple honeymooned for a week at Taino Beach Resort in Freeport, Bahamas.
They currently reside in Frederick.
Jenna and Ryan would like to thank their parents, family and friends for making their wedding day unforgettable. Special thanks to guests who traveled from California, Ohio, Missouri, Pennsylvania, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Florida to be there on the special day.

Robert Jeffrey Bonser and Rebecca Kathleen Mathews were united in marriage Sept. 3, 2012 in an outdoor ceremony at the Hayloft in Rockwood. The groom’s father, Pastor Robert Bonser, presided over the double ring ceremony and delivered a message from Genesis 2:15-25 entitled “A Bond of Grace.”

On Oct. 15, 2011, Amber Corinne Bailey and Tyler Patrick Larkin were united in marriage in front of family and friends. The double ring ceremony took place at Centre Street United Methodist Church, which was the church of the bride’s childhood. The Rev. Ann W. Abbey Alexandra Bond and Cpl. Braxten Ray Brodie were united in marriage on Saturday, Aug. 18, 2012, at Ridgeview Valley in McHenry. The outdoor, double ring ceremony was officiated by Shon Brodie, uncle of the groom. A retired sergeant major of the United States Marine Corps, Shon serves as a bishop in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Fredericksburg, Va.
