Harriman, Miller wedding


FRONT ROYAL, Va. — Amy Beth Miller and Andrew Campbell Harriman were united in marriage on June 14, 2008 at John Campbell Boggs Chapel in Front Royal. The double ring ceremony was performed by the Rev. William Anthony Layman.

The bride is the daughter of Glenn and Linda Miller, Cumberland. The groom is the son of Edward and Susan Harriman, Clifton, Va.

The mother of the bride was escorted down the aisle by her son, Scott Miller. The mother of the groom was escorted down the aisle by her son, Chris Harriman. The bride was escorted down the aisle by her father and given in marriage by her parents. She wore a satin A-line halter dress with beaded lace, lace-up back and peridot trim. Her bouquet consisted of white calla lilies and roses.

The bridesmaids wore peridot satin strapless dresses side-ruched with a rhinestone brooch. Serving as maid of honor was Alysia Hoover, friend of the bride and groom. Bridesmaids were Laura Abraham, Annarose Fitzgerald and Ann Harrison, all friends of the bride and groom. The bridesmaids’ bouquets also consisted of white calla lilies and roses.

The groom and groomsmen wore black three-button tuxedos with peridot vests and ties. The groom and best man wore a calla lily boutonniere while the groomsmen wore white roses. Serving as best man was Jake Layman, friend of the groom and bride. Groomsmen were the groom’s brother, Steve Harriman, and Brian Barbour and Mike Vance, all friends of the groom and bride.

Guest book and program attendants were Julia Harriman and Hannah Miller, nieces of the groom and bride.

During the ceremony, the bride’s brothers, Scott, Brian and Brett Miller, read a Scripture from 1 Corinthians 13. Also, groomsmen Brian Barbour accompanied bridesmaid Annarose Fitzgerald on the piano while she sang “Bless the Broken Road.”

A reception followed at the North Warren Celebration Hall, Front Royal. The wedding party was introduced by John Harriman, brother of the groom. Catering was done by The Apple House, Linden. The four-tier wedding cake, made by Sheila’s Sweets of Winchester, had layers of white, chocolate and Italian crème.

Flowers at the ceremony and reception were provided by Fussell Florist, Front Royal. Photography was provided by Julie Napear Photography, Winchester. Guests in attendance were from California, Maryland, Virginia, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, West Virginia and North Carolina.

A rehearsal dinner was held at Dean’s Steakhouse in Front Royal. A bridal shower was held by the bridesmaids at the maid of honor’s home in Winchester.

Amy is a graduate of Allegany High School and Towson University and is employed at Randolph-Macon Academy as the associate director of admissions and public relations.

Andrew is a graduate of Randolph-Macon Academy and Keene State College, Keene, N.H., and is now employed as a world history II teacher at Randolph-Macon Academy.

After their honeymoon in Key West, Fla., the couple moved into their new home in Front Royal.

Amy and Andy want to thank all of their family and friends for making their wedding day a special one. Special thanks to their parents for raising them with character, integrity and good sense. They will always be the image Amy and Andy will strive to emulate.
