CUMBERLAND — Jeff Squires and Amber McKenney were married on Saturday, Sept. 6, 2008. The double ring ceremony took place at the First Presbyterian Church, Cumberland, with the Rev. John Dillon officiating.

The groom is the son of Fred and Sharon Squires of Cumberland. He is the grandson of Mrs. Elva Berry and the late Mr. Benjamin “Bud” Berry and Mr. and Mrs. Fred “Skip” Squires.
The bride was given in marriage by her father and mother. She wore a diamond white formal wedding gown with pickups and accented with rhinestones and a custom made veil.. She carried a beautiful bouquet of yellow calla lilies made by her mother.
Serving as maid of honor was Melissa Lohr. Bridesmaids were Jackie Duckworth and Heather Squires. They wore beautiful bright yellow dresses trimmed in black. The flower girl was Kylee Baker, sister of the bride. The bridal attendants carried bouquets of yellow calla lilies, also custom made by the bride’s mother.
The groom wore a traditional black tuxedo with a yellow vest and yellow tie.
Serving as the best man was Fred Squires, brother of the groom. Groomsmen were Colby Ingram and William Squires, cousins of the groom. The groomsmen wore black suits with bright yellow ties. Ushers were Nickolis McKenney and Tyson Baker, brothers of the bride.
The church was decorated with beautiful yellow and white flowers. Candles were lit by the mothers, Patty Baker and Sharon Squires. During the ceremony, the bride and groom used those candles to light a unity candle. The singer, Candice Mann, sang a beautiful rendition of Alison Krauss’ “When You Say Nothing at All” during the lighting of the candle.
A reception followed at the District 16 Fire Hall. Guests enjoyed hors d’oeuvres provided by members of the Squires family and a main course buffet provided by Bernie McKenney and Melinda Basillio. Matt Squires, uncle of the groom, served as master of ceremonies and disc jockey. The bride’s and groom’s first dance was to “It's Your Love” by Tim McGraw and Faith Hill. Toasts were offered by the best man, Fred Squires, maid of honor, Melissa Lohr, and cousin of the groom, Brooks Ingram. The beautiful cake was made by Shelby Gable and boasted four tiers with yellow and white calla lilies cascading down each tier. Each tier was a different flavor, including french vanilla, chocolate and lemon.
Rob Baker, stepfather of the bride, was in charge of photography.
Since Amber lives in Montana and would not be in Cumberland until the week of the wedding, a virtual gift card shower was organized by the Squires family.
