CUMBERLAND — Miss Abbey Sue Campbell and Mr. Colin Franklin Jackson were united in marriage on May 10, 2008, at Central Assembly of God Church, Cumberland. The double-ring ceremony was officiated by the Rev. Stephen Stover, Seneca, S.C., and the Rev. John May, Stephens City, Va.

The bride is the daughter of Brad and Sherry Campbell, Cumberland. The groom is the son of Ian and Terry Jackson, Auburndale, Fla.

Roses were placed on the altar in loving memory of Marette Jackson, grandmother of the groom, and Ben Tasker, dear friend of the bride.

The bride, escorted to the altar by her father and given in marriage by her parents, wore a sweetheart halter gown with corset bodice enhanced with crystal and sequins beading and A-line skirt highlighted with beaded embroidery and a cathedral train. The gown was accented with a bouquet of red roses and cascading orchids.

The ceremony featured the couple’s first communion and an altar of remembrance built by family and friends placing white stones in a vase as they entered the ceremony. The couple poured crystals around the stones as a symbol of their commitment to God and each other. The Rev. John May pronounced blessings on the couple written by the fathers. Shannon Lewis, Charlottesville, Va., and Faith Lorman, Elkton, provided music.

Mrs. Kaila England, Cumberland, served as matron of honor. The reception featured a décor of red tulle, lights and flowers. Scott Furey, Keyser, W.Va., provided the music and served as master of ceremonies for the reception.

The couple honeymooned with a cruise to the western Caribbean.

Abbey was honored with a shower given by the ladies of Central Assembly, Auburndale, Fla., and another shower given by Kaila England, Susie Tasker and the ladies of Calvary Assembly of God, Fort Ashby, W.Va. A personal shower was given by her bridesmaids.
