Moore-Albright vows said at double ring ceremony

For the Cumberland Times-News

CUMBERLAND — On July 28, 2007, Molly Ann Albright and Robert Micheal Moore were united in marriage. The double ring ceremony took place at Cornerstone Baptist Church in Cumberland, with Pastor David Hattenfield officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Dennis and Kimberly Albright, Mount Savage. Molly is the granddaughter of John and Ruth Lancaster, Mount Savage, the late Louis Albright, and Arlene and Herbie Peiffer, Florida.

The groom is the son of Robert and Bonnie Moore, LaVale. Robert is the grandson of Betty Jean Steele, Cumberland, the late George Steele, the late Cecil and Thelma Moore, and the late Lyda Moore.

The bride was walked down the aisle by her father and was given away by both of her parents. The bride wore a strapless, satin, princess-line dress in ivory with deep wine embroidered flowers, sequins and crystal beading. The delicate embroidery and beading continued down the chapel length train. Specifically designed for her by her sister, the bride wore a hand-beaded fingertip-length ivory veil to match her dress. She also wore in her hair a delicately designed tiara with pearly white flowers and crystals. The bride’s jewelry consisted of a matching double layer pearl necklace and bracelet set which was worn by her grandmother at her own wedding. Her ears were adorned with pearl and crystal drop earrings. The bride carried a bouquet of white calla lilies and pale yellow and wine alstromerias accented with green ivy and flowing ribbons.

The groom looked especially handsome in his jet black, pin-striped two-button tuxedo accented with a wine vest and tie and finished off with a boutonniere of a pale yellow alstromeria and a white calla lily.

Serving as maid of honor was Amy Albright, favorite sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Christa Moore, sister of the groom, and Katie Cioni and Sarah McFarland, friends of the bride. The bridesmaids wore pale yellow, cocktail-length satin gowns accented with a deep wine-colored band at the waist. They carried hand-tied bouquets of pale yellow alstromerias and wore necklaces and earrings with a flower design of crystals, a gift from the bride.

Serving as best man was Justin Taylor, best friend of the groom since childhood. Groomsmen were Matt Clayton, friend of the groom, and Nathan Steele and Travis Bucy, cousins of the groom. The groomsmen wore black, pinstriped tuxedos with a pale yellow vest and tie and a pale yellow alstromeria boutonniere.

Emily Jean Brechbiel, cousin of the groom, shined as the flower girl. Emily wore an ivory dress with wine flowers embroidered delicately along the trim of the dress, matching nearly perfectly to the bride’s gown. A crown of white flowers and a wine sash of color around her waist topped off the outfit. Emily carried a heart-shaped basket, filled with pale yellow and iridescent rose petals that she used to shower the aisle.

Logan Skidmore, cousin of the bride, stood as the ring bearer. He wore a black tuxedo and wine colored vest and tie, matching the attire of the groom.

Cousins of the groom, Katie and Ashley Farrell, Allison Hawkins and Meshach Preston passed out programs and bubbles. Cousins of the bride, Philip, Andrew and Rachel Boch attended the guest book, signature picture frames and advice cards at the wedding and the reception.

The organist for the ceremony was Samantha King, friend of the bride. Amy Pyle provided beautiful vocals for the ceremony. Kathy and Harold Fike served an irreplaceable function as wedding coordinators at the church.

Molly and Robert placed three red roses and one white rose on display to honor the memory of their grandparents who have passed away, Louis Albright, George Steele, Cecil Moore and Thelma Moore. Altar flowers made with large white calla lilies accented with yellow and red were created by the mother of the bride. These floral arrangements, along with the bridesmaid bouquets designed by Penny Price of Harvey’s Florist in Frostburg, also created table decorations at the reception, which was held at Frostburg State University Lane Center. The bridal party entered through a lit archway, also uniquely decorated with flowers by Molly’s mother. Table centerpieces were created with small scalloped-edged bowls filled with deep red stones and pale yellow rose-shaped floating candles.

The delicious dinner and ambiance-filled room was set up and catered by Marie Fouts and ARAMARK catering. Guests at the reception enjoyed watching a slide show of Molly and Robert as individuals growing up and then finally together as a couple.

The four-tier, round wedding cake done very delicately in ivory tones with a “Willow Tree” figurine of a couple dancing, a gift from the bride’s sister, adorning the top, was done by Bonnie Goebel of Mount Savage. Sitting next to the main cake sat a groom’s cake especially designed for Robert, a huge Pittsburgh Pirates fan.

Photography services were provided by Stan Eisel of Frostburg. The ceremony and reception were videotaped by Pastor John Dodd of Cornerstone Baptist Church. Reception music and entertainment were provided by Mark Stevens Disc Jockey Services. Molly and Robert danced their first dance to “One Good Well” by Don Williams. Molly danced with her father to “I Loved Her First” by Heartland. Robert danced with his mother to “Because You Loved Me” by Celine Dion.

The couple danced their last dance of the night to “Dixieland Delight” by Alabama before heading off to spend their wedding night at the Hampton Inn in Frostburg, booked by the groom’s parents. After that, the couple honeymooned for a week in gorgeous Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic as a gift from the groom’s parents.

A wonderful rehearsal dinner was held in honor of the bride and the groom the evening before the wedding at the Ali Ghan Shrine Club in Cumberland. All members of the wedding party and guests were invited to share in the celebration. A delicious buffet dinner was catered by the Shrine Club and decorations were created by the mother of the groom. The couple showed their appreciation by presenting their parents and bridal party members with gifts.

The bride and groom were honored at a shower thrown by their mothers and families at Cornertstone Baptist Church. Molly also was guest of honor at a bridal shower thrown by her friends at West Side Elementary.

The bride is a 1998 graduate of Mount Savage School and a 2002 graduate of Frostburg State University, with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education. She is currently employed as a third grade teacher at West Side Elementary School.
