CORRIGANVILLE — Susan Marie Clinedinst, 89, Corriganville, went to be with the Lord on Monday, Feb. 15, 2010, at Egle Nursing and Rehab Center, where she had been a resident since October 2009. Susan joins her beloved late husband, Kenneth, who passed away exactly 23 years ago, on Feb.15, 1987.
Born Oct. 22, 1920, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late John and Catherine (Shroyer) Plummer. Susan was also preceded in death by, James Jewell, her first husband, who was tragically killed in a motor vehicle accident on Father’s Day in 1947. James left behind two daughters, Jennifer, who was three months and Judith, who was five years. Susan married Kenneth in 1949, and resided in Corriganville, where they raised their daughters, and added a third, Kelly.
In her earlier years, Susan was employed at the Celanese Fiber Corporation and attended the Calvary Bible Church. She spent her final years as a homemaker, and later supported the Solid Rock Independent Baptist Church, in Corriganville.
Surviving are three daughter, Judith Garlitz and late husband Harry, Cumberland, Jennifer Wisenberg and husband LeRoy, Cumberland and Kelly Cessna and husband Danny, Mt. Savage; grandchildren, Wendy Ridgeway and husband Kevin, Hagerstown, Lee Wisenberg, Greeneville, Tenn. and Crissy Cessna, Mt. Savage; great-grandchildren, Kenneth and Garrett Bray, Cresaptown and Alyssa Wisenberg, Greeneville. Susan leaves behind a special friend at Egle Nursing and Rehab Center, her roommate, Loretta Shupp. Loretta kept a watchful eye over mom while she was residing in the nursing center, giving comfort to her family. “Grandma Clinedinst” was also survived by her special friend and little girl, Chloe Robison. Chloe would always be tickled by the treat bags of candy and Mr. Goodbars that “Grandma Clinedinst” would send her way.
Friends will be received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, Inc., 169 Clarence St., Hyndman, Pa., on Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2010 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Thursday, Feb. 18, 2010 at 11 a.m. with Pastor John Klink officiating.
Burial will be private at Restlawn Memorial Gardens, LaVale.
