CUMBERLAND — No. 2 Bishop Walsh scored 30 points in the first quarter and had 54 by halftime in an 83-62 win over Hope for Hyndman Friday evening at Bishop Walsh.
Quincy Redmon recorded a double-double by scoring a game-high 20 points and grabbing 16 rebounds. Hunter Marrale was right behind him with 19 points and Liam Rhodes finished with 18 points, six assists and four steals. Bill Conroy contributed 11 points and four assists and Chris Scarlett added nine points and five assists.
The Spartans (16-5) outscored the Hornets 30-11 in the opening quarter and was out in front 54-25 by halftime. Hyndman trimmed six points off the lead to trail 70-47 at the end of three quarters.
The Hornets (12-5) got 18 points from Brad Torbet and 15 from Tim Leydig.
Hyndman won the jayvee game 35-30 on Micah Stair’s 12 points. Darius Berry scored 10 for the Spartans.
Bishop Walsh faces top-ranked Allegany on Tuesday on Haystack Mountain. Hyndman plays at Calvary on Monday.
