FROSTBURG — Sarah Raines scored 25 points and was named tournament Most Valuable Player, leading Mountain Ridge to a 57-38 defeat of Catoctin in the Mountain Ridge Holiday Tournament championship game Friday evening.
The Miners faced little resistance. They scored 13 points in each of the first two quarters, and led 26-13 at halftime. It was 42-25 after three periods.
Christie Erfurdt led Catoctin with 11.
Carlie Lewis added nine points and joined Raines, Erfurdt, Courtney Clemons of Catoctin and Sarah Lowery of Fort Hill on the All-Tournament team.
Mountain Ridge (5-0) plays again at Keyser on Friday at 7 p.m.
