HAGERSTOWN — John Horowitz led a balanced attack with 13 points and the Monroe Mustangs put on a shooting show in a 79-41 victory over Allegany College of Maryland in the Jim Brown Classic on Saturday.
Monroe (5-3), an NJCAA Division I team from the Bronx, hit 12 of 23 shots (52 percent) from beyond the three-point line.
Seven different players made three-point goals, including Horowitz, who was 3 for 5.
Stephane Manga had 12 points and Carlos DeJesus and Maurice Ndour 10 each for Monroe, which led 42-23 at halftime.
Isaiah Epps had nine points and seven assists and Ndour grabbed seven rebounds as the Mustangs out-rebounded the Trojans 34-23.
Ricky Mosley had a game-high 14 points and Alex Brayboy and Garrett D’Atri seven each for Allegany (1-5).
The Trojans return to Hagerstown Community College today to play Monroe (N.Y.) Community College, at 2 p.m., on the final day of the Brown Classic.
