KEYSER, W.Va. — Potomac State got goals from two local players and another shutout from its goalie during a 2-0 win over Westmoreland at Stayman Field.
Mountain Ridge graduate Chris Ranker scored an unassisted goal at the 2:25 mark of first half, while Northern graduate Steve Holtschneider scored unassisted in the second.
The win improves Potomac State to 11-1 overall and 4-1 against Region XX teams. The Catamounts are just outside the Top 10 in the NJCAA National poll as a team also receiving votes.
Conor Fungaroli made one save in the team’s fourth straight shutout. Derek Walter had three saves for the Wolfpack.
The Cats carried a 20-8 advantage in shots and 5-1 in corner kicks.
Potomac State will try for its 12th victory when it travels to Christendom on Wednesday.
