MEYERSDALE, Pa. — Brad Torbet poured in 22 points and Tim Leydig drilled four three-point goals and had 14 points as Hope for Hyndman overpowered Meyersdale 65-28 in high school boys basketball Thursday night.
Torbet hit nine field goals and four of five free throws as the Hornets (11-4) put it away early with a 26-point first period. Hyndman led 46-17 at halftime and 60-21 after three quarters.
Chad Deneen chipped in with 12 points for the Hornets, who play again tonight at Rockwood.
Hyndman also won the jayvee game 31-20. Jordan Hiquet had a team high nine points.

Patient Bridgeport beats Frankfort, 9-6
It took two days, but Bridgeport returned to Frankfort and increased its two-run lead to three to defeat the Falcons, 9-6, and advance to the Class AA state tournament to be held next week in Charleston at Appalachian Power Park.
