CUMBERLAND — Jarrett Wolfe scored a season-high 33 points and also grabbed a team-high 12 rebounds as fourth-seeded Fort Hill overpowered fifth-seeded Hancock 89-42 in their Class 1A West sectional playoff game Wednesday night.
The Sentinels (13-10) play again tonight, at top-seeded Allegany, in a 7 p.m. semifinal.
Ten Sentinels scored. Wolfe, a 6-foot-9 senior center, made 14 field goals and 5 of 8 foul shots to lead the way. Travis Bush added 13 points and Dalton Gaus 11.
It was the fourth win in a row and sixth in eight games for Fort Hill, which led 19-7 after one quarter and 43-22 at the half.
Devon Mitchell and Chad Sipe had nine points each for Hancock (7-13).

Northern 51
ACCIDENT — Clay Todd scored a season-high 17 points and Lucas Ritchie and Landon Todd had 12 each as Southern snapped a four-game skid with a 74-51 victory over Northern in the Class 1A West section quarterfinals.
Twelve players scored for the Rams (9-14), who will play at second-seeded Mountain Ridge in a sectional semifinal tonight.
Southern led 17-6 after the first quarter and 34-18 at halftime.
Kollin Keister hit three three-point shots and had 15 points for Northern (3-20). Jordan Evans added 14 points, Jeremy Bender had four and seven rebounds and Tyler Yutzy eight points and six assists.
Shanksville 63
Hope for Hyndman 48
NEW PARIS, Pa. — Brian Platt poured in 29 points and Shanksville cashed in at the free-throw line to beat Hope for Hyndman Charter School in their Class A, District V semifinal played at Chestnut Ridge.
Carter Slade added 12 points and Jordan Wilt made 9 of 12 foul shots and had 11 points for Shanksville, which will play in the district championship game Friday at Pitt-Johnstown.
Brad Torbet had a team-high 16 points and Tim Leydig and Jordan Hiquet nine each for Hyndman.
Shanksville led 27-23 at halftime and 45-36 after three quarters.
With eight three-point goals, Hyndman outproduced Shanksville 46-44. Shanksville was 19 for 26 from the foul line compared to Hyndman’s 2 for 5.
The Hornets finished the season with a 17-7 record.

New Covenant 39
BEL AIR — Tyler Michael scored 24 points and Gavin Hart hit seven three-point goals and had 22 to power Calvary to a convincing win over New Covenant in the Maryland Christian Schools State Tournament.
Calvary (12-14), the sixth seed, plays again tonight against second-seeded Harford Christian in a 6 p.m. state semifinal at Annapolis Christian.
Michael hit 11 field goals and a free throw to lead the Eagles to their third win in the last four games. Hart padded his lead as the area’s top three-point shooter with the seven three-pointers.
Calvary led 12-11 after one quarter and played strong team defense the rest of the way to gain a spot in the Final Four. The Eagles outscored New Covenant 16-6 in the second quarter for a 28-17 halftime lead and gave up only 22 points in the second half.
Michael Karsner had 21 points for New Covenant, which shot just 4 for 16 from the foul line.
The 12 wins are the most for a boys basketball team at Calvary since 1995.
Tonight’s other semifinal pits No. 1 Mt. Airy Christian against No. 5 Salisbury Christian. The winners of tonight’s semifinals play for the state title on Saturday at 3 p.m. at Annapolis Christian.
