SEVERN — John Wilson banked in a 3-pointer with 50 seconds to play to give Hartford its first lead of the game in a 54-51 win over Calvary in the Maryland Christian School State semifinal Thursday at Annapolis Area Christian School.
Wilson finished with 19 points. Zack Dawson put in 16 and Shawn Hughes added 10.
The Eagles got a game-high 25-point performance from Tyler Michael and 14 from Justin Swogger but failed to make game-tying and go-ahead baskets in the final minute.
Calvary finishes the season with a 12-15 mark.

One year year after Bria Welker and Katie Jan dominated the West Virginia Class AA State Track and Field Championships with a combined seven individual state championships and 74 team points, only to come up two agonizing points short of a team state championship for the Frankfort Falcons, the two were at it again on Saturday at Laidley Field, and this time the Falcons came home to a rousing Falcon Stadium welcome as West Virginia state champions. And this year, it wasn’t even close.

Miners pad streak to 44
