Fort Hill, Allegany boys play tonight
CUMBERLAND — Tonight’s West Sectional semifinal game between Fort Hill and Allegany will be held at Allegany with a 7 p.m. tipoff. Gates will open at 5:30. There will be no entry into the gymnasium until that time. Tickets are $5 as per MPSSAA policy.
To help speed ticket purchasing, fans are asked to have correct change if possible.
Frostburg league sets final signup
FROSTBURG — Due to the recent ice storm, the Frostburg Baseball League will hold an additional registration on Saturday at the Frostburg Community Center from 10 a.m. until noon. Any boy or girl ages 5-12 interested in playing baseball must be registered at this time. For more information, contact Todd Snyder at 301-876-8851.

meeting postponed
RAWLINGS — The Fore Sisters Men’s Golf Association meeting originally scheduled for Saturday at the Ponderosa Restaurant has been postponed and will be rescheduled at a later date.
FSU’s Trey Davis
wins weight throw
FAIRFAX, Va. — Frostburg State’s Trey Davis won the weight throw and Christian Smith had a pair of top-five finishes at the George Mason Last Chance Indoor Track and Field Meet.
Davis, a junior, won the weight throw with a distance of 15.02 meters (49 feet, 3 1/2 inches).
Smith, a senior, was third in the shot put at 13.99 meters (45 feet, 10 3/4 inches) and fourth in the weight throw with a personal best 14.78 meters (48 feet, 6 inches).
Davis will compete in the ECAC Championships this weekend in New York City.
Hot Stove
meetings tonight at Bingo Hall
CUMBERLAND — The Hot Stove executive board will meet tonight, 6:30 p.m., at the Hot Stove Bingo in Ames Plaza.
A mangers meeting will follow at 7:30. Managers should have all candy papers and a tentative roster to turn in at this time.

Patient Bridgeport beats Frankfort, 9-6
It took two days, but Bridgeport returned to Frankfort and increased its two-run lead to three to defeat the Falcons, 9-6, and advance to the Class AA state tournament to be held next week in Charleston at Appalachian Power Park.

Chelsea Muir got to do what most people only get dream to about Friday evening by hitting a walk-off single in the bottom of the eighth inning to lift Mountain Ridge to a 9-8 win over Colonel Richardson for the Miners’ second straight Maryland 1A State championship in an instant classic at Robert E. Taylor Field at the University of Maryland.
