OAKLAND — Raeslee Weimer scored 15 points to lead four Rams in double figures to help top-ranked Southern to a 50-32 lead through three quarters in what turned out to be a 58-50 win over No. 2 Fort Hill Monday in the regular-season final for both teams.
Weimer had two threes and made three of her four free throws for 15 points. Mandy Sweitzer went 7-for-8 on her foul shots during a 13-point effort and Hannah Horne added 12 points. Alicia Roth contributed with 11 and had a team-high eight rebounds.
Alesha Jackson led Fort Hill with 15 points. Sydney Winn added 11 and Alexis Kimmell had nine.
The Rams built a 19-10 lead during the first quarter, led 37-26 at halftime and was up by 18 (50-32) at the end of the third.
Fort Hill’s jayvees won 35-25 with Raquel Malcolm scoring 16 points. Marley Merrick scored 10 for Southern.
The Rams end the regular season at 19-2 and as Appalachian Mountain Athletic Conference champions with a mark of 15-1. Fort Hill (14-5, 11-4) begins the Maryland 1A West Section playoffs on Friday when it hosts Hancock. Southern will play the winner of that game on Monday at 7 p.m.

CUMBERLAND — Carlie Lewis scored 16 points to lead a balanced attack as third-ranked Mountain Ridge closed out the regular season with its ninth-straight victory, defeating Bishop Walsh Monday evening on the Spartans’ floor.
Lewis’ game-high total came on seven field goals and 2 of 4 from the free-throw line. Shae Winner added 11 points and Torey Weimer and Sarah Raines each had 10.
Nicole Ross led Bishop Walsh with 12 points and Maggie Czapski, with three 3-pointers, finished with nine. Ross had BW’s other three-point goal. Julia Morin led the Spartans with 12 rebounds and six steals.
“We started out up 7-0,” said Bishop Walsh head coach Travis Beeman about his team on Senior Night. “They (the Miners) took over from there.”
Mountain Ridge (18-3, 13-3 Appalachian Mountain Athletic Conference) led 15-13 after the first quarter, held Bishop Walsh to only three second quarter points in taking a 32-16 halftime lead and was in complete control after the third quarter at 56-23.
Jona Harris scored 10 points in Mountain Ridge’s 47-25 junior varsity victory. Maggie Matthews led BW with 12.
Bishop Walsh (2-26, 0-14 AMAC, 0-4 City) finishes its regular season Wednesday at St. Maria Goretti.
Mountain Ridge, with a first-round playoff bye, will play Friday’s Allegany-Northern winner on Monday.
