Patient Bridgeport beats Frankfort, 9-6
It took two days, but Bridgeport returned to Frankfort and increased its two-run lead to three to defeat the Falcons, 9-6, and advance to the Class AA state tournament to be held next week in Charleston at Appalachian Power Park.

Chelsea Muir got to do what most people only get dream to about Friday evening by hitting a walk-off single in the bottom of the eighth inning to lift Mountain Ridge to a 9-8 win over Colonel Richardson for the Miners’ second straight Maryland 1A State championship in an instant classic at Robert E. Taylor Field at the University of Maryland.

The Allegany Campers, with an 11-game win streak, a region championship and a City title already in their pockets, go for the grand prize today — a state baseball championship — here at Ripken Stadium.
