CUMBERLAND — Sara Wagner scored 18 points and Alisha Shives added 11 to lead Hancock to a 44-40 win over Bishop Walsh in high school girls basketball on Saturday afternoon.
The Panthers (6-5) broke a 40-40 tie with a field goal with 1:30 remaining, then tacked on two foul shots later to seal the win.
Ally Simpson and Nicole Ross had nine points and Hailey Mock eight for Bishop Walsh (0-12), which led 22-21 at halftime. Julia Morin grabbed a team-high 13 rebounds.
BW won the jayvee game 22-18. Maggie Mathews had 10 points for the Spartans. P. Weller had 10 for Hancock.
Bishop Walsh hosts Southern tonight.
