Alco inducting HOF members Saturday

CUMBERLAND — Allegany High School will be inducting seven new members into its Sports Hall of Fame Saturday evening before a varsity boys basketball game against Southern.

The latest class to be honored is composed of Johnnie Fields, class of 1991; Brett Miller, 1993; Joe Mullan, 1981; Charles “Chuck” Schoenadel, 1970; Kim (Twigg) Root, 1999; Paul Twigg, 1934; and Loren Winebrenner, 1999. Paul Twigg is being honored posthumously.

The 32nd class of inductees brings the total members to 108.

Ceremonies are scheduled to begin between the end of the 4:30 p.m. junior varsity contest, and the varsity game, scheduled for a 6 o’clock tip-off.
