HAGERSTOWN — Maggie Murray scored 11 points and Abbey Eich and Lauree Lorensen had nine to lift St. Maria Goretti to a 41-31 win over Bishop Walsh Wednesday evening.
Nicole Ross hit a pair of three-point goals and led all scorers with 12 points for Bishop Walsh. Ally Simpson also had a pair of threes and finished with 10 points. Julie Morin pulled in 12 rebounds.
BW got off to a decent start but was outscored 14-0 in the second period and trailed 25-7 at the half. The Spartans outscored the Gaels 24-16 in the second half.
The Spartans (2-27) will be idle until hosting the BWGIT March 7-9.
St. Maria Goretti is 7-15.

Moorefield 39
ACCIDENT — Kirsten Rayner scored 19 points and Allison Yommer had 13 to lead Northern past Moorefield in a rescheduled game on Friday.
Rayner hit nine field goals and a free throw for the Huskies, who outscored the Yellowjackets 15-6 in the fourth quarter to pull out the win.
Taylor Zuber led Moorefield (6-15) with nine points.
Northern (5-16) plays at Allegany on Friday in the first round of the Class 1A West section playoffs.
Mountain Ridge jayvees finish 21-1
FROSTBURG — Lexie Metz scored 16 points to lead the Mountain Ridge jayvees to a 42-25 win over Fort Hill in the championship game of the Mountain Ridge Junior Varsity Tournament.
The win in the season-ending tournament gave the Miners a 21-1 record.
Raquel Malcolm led Fort Hill with 13 points.
Southern beat Allegany in the consolation game 39-35. Brianna Evans had 16 points and Shay Tasker 10 for the Rams. Jordan Hare led the Campers with eight.

Taylor Field at the University of Maryland.
