Mtn. Ridge football parents meet Feb. 5

FROSTBURG — The Mountain Ridge Football Parents Association will meet for the election of 2013 officers Tuesday, Feb. 5, 6 p.m., in the school cafeteria. All parents of football players are invited to attend as well as any incoming freshman parents.

 

Tri-Towns sign-ups today, Tuesday

WESTERNPORT — The Tri-Towns Little League baseball sign-ups will be today, noon to 2 p.m., and Tuesday, Feb. 5, 6 to 8 p.m., at Moran’s Lounge in the Tri-Towns Plaza. For information, call Brandon Moran at 301-268-8579 or Eric Shingler at 301-876-8621.

 

Fort Ashby Junior Baseball to meet

FORT ASHBY, W.Va. — Fort Ashby Junior Baseball will meet Sunday, Feb. 10, 4:30 p.m., at the Fort Ashby Fire Hall. Anyone interested in coaching or volunteering for the upcoming season should attend this meeting.

Fort Ashby Junior Baseball is for children, ages 4-12, residing in the Fort Ashby district of the Bi-State Little Leaue. For information, call Matt Reeder at 301-697-8188.

 

Mountain Ridge wrestlers beat FH

FROSTBURG — Mountain Ridge defeated Fort Hill Thursday night, 36-28, in high school wrestling action at Mountain Ridge.

Winning by pin for the Miners were Cody Matthews (113 pounds), Adam Martz (138) and Austin Clark (182). Brock Petenbrink (106), Colten White (120), Colton Sites (145) and Tyler Maynard (160) won by decision, while J.T. Thomas (126) received a forfeit.

For Fort Hill, Brett Rinehart (195), Brennan Carlin (220) and Tim Friend (285) won by pin. Cody Arigo (170) won by major decision, while Tristan Tressler (132) and Drake Arnold (152) won by decision.

Mountain Ridge wrestles today, 1 p.m., at Frankfort High School against Franklin and Winters Miller.
