COLUMBIA — Allegany College of Maryland didn’t make it easy for the Howard, but the Dragons were able to sweep past the Trojans to remain the only undefeated team in the Maryland JUCO Monday in Columbia.
Howard won the opener 25-25, but Allegany edged closer in the second game (25-20) and forced an extra effort in the third game that the Dragons hung on to win 26-24.
Bailey Sinai went 44 for 51 on her attacks, adding 15 kills and 14 digs to lead the Trojans. Paris Duncan had four kills and four blocks while getting 17 of her 19 attacks, and Kayla Hutson finished with a Trojan-high 18 assists. Jessica Yoder added 10 digs, and Courtney Koelker finished with six assists, two kills and two blocks.
Allegany (16-8, 8-4 JUCO) travels to play Potomac State on Thursday. Howard is 11-0 in the MDJUCO and 19-2 overall.
