FRONT ROYAL,Va. — Potomac State took a 3-0 lead by halftime, but had to fight off a charge in the final 45 minutes to pick up a 3-2 win over Christendom Wednesday in junior college men’s soccer.
The Catamounts are now 12-1 and sitting right outside of the NJCAA Division III National Top 10 as one of two team receiving votes. Potomac State will play an important game in the Region XX Division III standings with a match at home on Saturday with Howard.
Trey Ogilvie gave the Cats a 1-0 when he made good on Gudie Guzman’s assist 7:09 into play. Steven Holtschneider scored on a penalty kick at 12:58 and Connor Eberly was assisted by Garrett Kiddy with 3:30 left in the half to make it 3-0.
Sean Salmon and Tommy Salmon scored unassisted goals over the final 25 minutes to make things tight again.
It is the second straight week that the Cats have received votes in the national poll, but none of the team in the top 10 lost to make roon for PSC.

Patrick Sines drove in three runs for Grantsville Post 214 in an 8-5 win over Prospect, Ohio at the Hillbilly Hardball Classic on Saturday.
Evan Rodeheaver got the win, allowing three earned runs on seven hits in a complete game. -
