KEYSER, W.Va. — Thomas Edward Robinson, 84, of Route 6, Keyser, died Thursday, Feb. 18, 2010, at the Dawn View Center, Fort Ashby.

Born on June 5, 1925, at Petersburg, he was a son of the late Paul W. and Ruth Elton (Barr) Robinson. He also was preceded in death by a sister, Esther Carter.

Mr. Robinson was employed by the Celanese Amcelle Corporation for 16 years and served his country in the United States Navy as a mechanic from August 1943 to April of 1965. He loved playing the guitar and especially loved his grandchildren.

Surviving are his loving wife of nearly 59 years, Ruth E. (Markle) Robinson; his five loving children, Thomas E. Robinson Jr. and wife Nancy of Manchester, Pa., Timothy M. Robinson and wife Ailish of Jacksonville, Fla., Lisa E. Bonnett and husband Paul of New Bern, N.C., Lori Newhouse and husband Chris of Keyser, and Amy Fetter and husband Ralph of Levels; one brother, Lester Robinson of Baltimore, Md.; one sister, Isabelle Bradley of Ridgeley; nine grandchildren, Helen and Vera Robinson, Tulley Bonnett, Luke Spencer and wife Jessica, Paul Spencer, Jeremy Newhouse, Derrick Newhouse and wife Jody and Lindsey and Leesie Jackson; and four great-grandchildren, Laban, Lila, Rylan and Rya.

Friends may call at the Smith Funeral Home, Keyser Chapel, on Saturday, Feb. 20, 2010, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Funeral services will be conducted at the Smith Funeral Home, Keyser Chapel, on Sunday, Feb. 21, 2010, at 5 p.m. with Pastor Wesley Beahm officiating.

Committal services and interment will be at the Omega-Alpha Cemetery, Short Gap, on Monday, Feb. 22, 2010, at 10 a.m.
