WEPCO stays unbeaten

SALISBURY, Pa. — Jeremy Shingler fired a four-hit shutout with nine strikeouts and only two walks as WEPCO Federal Credit Union defeated Casselman Valley 10-0 in an early-season battle of Rec League unbeatens Friday night.

Shingler was handy with the bat as well, driving in a run and scoring three times with a pair of singles. Bill Freeman scored three times and had two singles, and Jordan Montgomery hit an RBI double. Ben Russell led WEPCO with three RBIs and scored a run with two singles, while Justin Shaw had a pair of singles and an RBI.

Geoff Garlitz had two of Casselman’s four singles.

WEPCO (5-0) plays Chessie on Monday at Frostburg Armory Field. Casselman (4-1) will play Monday against Fort Ashby in Salisbury.
