Times-News tops Hite Roofing, 7-5
BEL AIR - Times-News needed two extra innings to get past Hite Roofing Wednesday night with a win that moves it to 4-10-1 as the regular season winds to an end.
Hite Roofing took the first lead by scoring once in the bottom of the first. Times-News got the score to 4-1 in the top of the fourth, but Hite Roofing got two back in the home half. After stretching the lead to 5-3 with one in the fifth, Hite Roofing scored twice in the sixth to tie it.
The Times-News seventh started with a double from Tristen Beyer. Nick Corbett then doubled him home before being singled home by Jacob Foreman.
Corbett added three singles to his double, and Foreman finished with a total of three singles. Jared Bittner singled twice, and Ryan Crabtree singled home two runs in the third.
Hite was led at the plate by Roy Jeffries with three singles. Shane Malloy and Cody Jeffries each had two.
Times-News plays Piney Mountain at Dickel Field on Friday. Hite Roofing plays Legion Post 13 tonight at Donahue.

WEPCO wins, 10-0
Jeremy Shingler pitched a five-inning one-hitter and got plenty of support as the WEPCO Federal Credit Union batters pounded 12 hits in a 10-0 victory over the Times-News on Friday evening at Holler Field for the team’s fourth straight Rec Baseball League championship.

Moore, Crawford lift Culver Design in 10th
Trevor Moore hit a clutch two-run single to give Culver Design Build the lead in the top of the 10th inning and Josh Crawford came back out to complete his 10 inning stint on the mound and induced three fly outs to centerfield as the Pirates beat the Cresaptown Eagles, 4-2, for a two-game sweep in the Hot Stove League championship series.

Szymanski sends Times-News over WEPCO, 10-4
Eddie Szymanski tripled and singled twice to knock in four runs and had the big hit in a six-run first inning to lead the Times-News to a 10-4 victory over WEPCO in Game 2 of the Rec Baseball League Championship Series Wednesday at Holler Field.

Connor O’Rourke had three hits and Aaron O’Rourke tossed a complete game as the Times-News defeated Chessie Credit Union, 7-5, to earn a spot in the Rec League finals Friday evening at Frostburg Armory field.

Ryan Reddinger struck out 12 while allowing three hits and walking two to put WEPCO Federal Credit Union into the Rec League Playoff finals by beating Sweitzer, Simson and Associates, 5-2, Thursday to win the best-of-three series.

Daniel Warnick stole third base and scored on the overthrow into left field in the bottom of the 11th as WEPCO edged the Times-News, 3-2, to clinch the Rec Baseball League regular-season title Wednesday evening.
