BEL AIR — Johnny Taylor belted a two-out solo home run in the top of the eighth to highlight a two-run inning to help Hite Roofing defeat KMK Insurance/Personal Best, 8-6, Thursday at Bel Air Field.
After Taylor’s blast, Hite would add another run as Scott Rice walked and came around on singles by David Smith and Kody Boyer.
Hite Roofing fell behind 4-0 after two innings, then chipped away with four single-run innings and a two-run top of the seventh to take a 6-4 lead. But KMK/Personal Best tied the score in the bottom of the seventh with a pair of runs to take the game to extra innings.
Taylor finished the game with his home run and three singles. Rice and Trevor Korns both hit two singles, David Smith tripled and singled, Boyer had three singles and Seth Thompson doubled.
For KMK/Personal Best, Brennan Connelley tripled, doubled and singled. Chandler Tomlinson doubled, Derek Barb doubled and singled, and Drew O’Neal singled twice.
Taylor pitched all eight innings for Hite Roofing and struck out 10 batters.
Hite Roofing (8-5-1) will play the Times-News today at Bel Air Field. KMK/Personal Best (6-8) will play Wepco today at Allegany High School.
