BEDFORD, Pa. — A tractor-trailer tanker carrying 9,000 gallons of propane overturned Friday morning about two miles west of Bedford, forcing the evacuation of about 50 people and closure of two state highways.
Although there were no injuries and the tanker apparently was not leaking, Routes 30 and 31 were closed to traffic as a safety precaution until cleanup could take place, according to Bedford County Emergency Management Director David Cubbison.
