OAKLAND — Anthony Ashby Racic, 33, Frostburg, appeared recently in Garrett County Circuit Court and pleaded guilty to possession with intent to distribute a Schedule IV controlled dangerous substance (clonazepam) and to possession of heroin. Related charges were dismissed upon his plea.
Judge Jim Sherbin postponed sentencing and revoked Racic’s bond that had been posted in Garrett County.
Racic was the passenger in a vehicle stopped by investigators with the Garrett County Narcotics Task Force for traffic violations in the Oakland area in October. The truck was searched after a drug-detection dog alerted during a scan.
Quantities of heroin, clonazepam, marijuana and drug paraphernalia were located in the truck and on Racic’s person, according to court information.
Charges were also placed against the driver, whose case remains pending in circuit court.
