CUMBERLAND — Assault, burglary and theft charges were filed Thursday against a Rockville man in connection with a breaking and entering at a residence in the 100 block of Columbia Street.
Ronnie T. Wilson, 22, was charged with first, and second-degree assault, reckless endangerment, false imprisonment, theft less than $1,000, and first- and third-degree burglary after Cumberland Police investigated the incident.
Wilson was jailed at the Allegany County Detention Center on $5,000 bond set by a district court commissioner.
Police said Wilson allegedly lured the victim to open a secured door of the complex at about 8:30 p.m., and then directed her back to her room.
Following an argument about their past relationship, Wilson allegedly tied the victim’s legs and right hand together with a belt and then held her at knifepoint. The victim suffered a knife wound to the hand but did not require medical treatment, police said.
Wilson allegedly took several hundred dollars from the victim before he left the residence. Cumberland Police located him a short time later on Front Street and made the arrest without incident.
