OAKLAND — A Friendsville man was taken to Ruby Memorial Hospital and a Swanton man to Garrett Memorial Hospital following two crashes that occurred Sunday in Garrett County, according to Maryland State Police.
Ryan Lee Sines, 35, of Friendsville, was taken to the Morgantown, W.Va., hospital after suffering injuries in an accident at about 5 p.m. on state Route 42 at the state line.
Sines suffered unspecified injuries and no information was available concerning his medical condition.
Police said Sines was a passenger in a 2004 Subaru Impreza operated by Robert W. Guthrie, 33, of Grantsville. The Guthrie vehicle traveled out of control due to weather conditions, police said.
Guthrie apparently was not injured.
Northern Rescue Squad and Friendsville Volunteer Fire Department also responded upon alert by the Garrett County 911 center.
Shortly after 7 p.m., an accident on Sky Valley Drive at Thousand Acre Road injured Joseph R. Bowman II, 19, of Swanton, who was taken to Garrett Memorial Hospital.
State police said Bowman was driving a 2008 Dodge 1500 truck when the vehicle traveled out of control and off the roadway.
Police said the speed of the vehicle and weather factored in the accident.
Southern Rescue Squad and Deer Park Volunteer Fire Department also responded.
