CUMBERLAND — Three juveniles and an adult were taken to Western Maryland Regional Medical Center following a two-vehicle accident Sunday evening on state Route 51 at PPG Road.
Lori Ann Alt, 29, Cumberland, and a juvenile in her vehicle were taken to the hospital along with two juveniles who were passengers in the other vehicle involved in the 6:22 p.m. collision, according to the Allegany County Bureau of Police.
Police said that a 2005 Kia operated by Michelle R. James, 41, Cumberland, failed to stop at a stop sign and collided with a 1998 Chevrolet Blazer operated by Alt.
Alt was trapped in her vehicle with her juvenile passenger until being extricated by volunteers from District 16 and Wiley Ford volunteer fire companies. Two juveniles in the James vehicle were also injured and taken to the hospital. None of the injuries appeared to be of a life-threatening nature, police said.
James was cited for failure to stop at a stop sign and driving with an expired license, police said.
