SOMERSET, Pa. — A 19-year-old man was charged with attempted homicide after allegedly attacking a juvenile male with a piece of glass at an underage drinking party, according to Pennsylvania State Police.
Tyler Augustus Helmick, of Boswell, was charged after the Friday night incident on Pine Springs Camp Road, in Jenner Township, according to a police report.
Helmick had “repeatedly used racial slurs toward the victim,” and during a physical altercation that followed, caused several “severe lacerations to the victim’s throat,” the police report said.
Helmick was also charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person and tampering with or fabricating physical evidence.
