CUMBERLAND — Nine people were cited recently by Maryland Natural Resources Police for alleged hunting violations.
Donald A. Kooken, 27, of Swanton; Alyssa R. Miller, 20, and Ashby J. Reeves, 19, both of Keyser, W.Va., were charged Nov. 13 with casting rays of light with a weapon in possession, hunting deer season closed and hunting deer at night. Reeves was also charged with loaded weapon in a vehicle and under-age possession of alcohol. Kooken was charged with possession of an open container of an alcoholic beverage in a vehicle.
Jonathan D. George, 18, and Jesse A. Lease, 22, both of Barton, were charged Nov. 11 with casting rays of light with a weapon in possession, hunting deer during closed season and hunting deer at nighttime.
David W. Crow, 42, of Cumberland, and Randall C. Crews, 47, and David A. Topper, 35, both of Frostburg, were charged Nov. 11 with hunting deer closed season, hunting deer at night and casting rays of light with a weapon in possession. Crow was also charged with shooting from the roadway and loaded weapon in a vehicle.
Marvin Ray Sines, 44, of Friendsville, was charged Oct. 26 with hunting black bear with the aid of bait. Sines was hunting in the White Rock area of Garrett County, according to NRP.
