CUMBERLAND — Three girls were charged with assault after Cumberland Police investigated two separate complaints Wednesday.
Shortly after 3 p.m. on Henderson Avenue, a student of the Eckhart Alternative School got off the school bus and was then allegedly assaulted by another student. The other student claimed she was defending herself, police said.
Both girls were charged with second-degree assault and the charges were forwarded to the Department of Juvenile services.
Investigation of an alleged assault at the Girls Group Home on Leslie Lane led to the arrest of Kayla M. Andujar, 18, on a charge of second-degree assault. She was jailed later on $1,000 bond, police said.
