11/4 - Fugitives nabbed by Bureau of Police

CRESAPTOWN — A 22-year-old Baltimore man was arrested Sunday during a traffic stop in the Cresaptown area on a drug possession charge and outstanding warrants in Allegany County and Baltimore, according to the Allegany County Bureau of Police.

Tavon J. Kearney was charged with possession of marijuana following the stop, as was the driver, William F. Younger, 65, of Cumberland. Kearney was charged with obstructing and hindering an investigation after giving police a false name. A police records check then showed Kearney was wanted in Allegany County for failure to appear in court and in Baltimore for violation of probation stemming from a drug violation, police said.

Kearney remained jailed Tuesday on $7,000 bond on the local charges and without bond on the Baltimore warrant. Younger was released on his personal recognizance.

Also arrested Sunday was Jermaine Ronald Harvey, 37, of Baltimore, on a bench warrant from Baltimore City for failure to appear in court on traffic violations. He was jailed on $10,000 bond.

The Bureau of Police also reported the arrest of Anthony Rummer, 29, of Cresaptown, on a fugitive warrant from West Virginia for violation of probation. He was held without bond pending extradition.
