CUMBERLAND — A 28-year-old woman was arrested early Sunday morning after police say she struck a Cumberland Housing Authority security officer during a disturbance at Fort Cumberland Homes.
Kristy Marie Weimer of Cumberland was charged with second-degree assault, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest after the 2:24 a.m. incident. She was released on her own recognizance after appearing before a district court commissioner.
In a separate incident earlier Saturday night, two people were arrested following a fight at a Pershing Street business, according to Cumberland Police.
Tara Renee Athey, 26, of Cumberland, was charged with second-degree assault and was held on $3,500 bond; and Jose Aquilino, 29, of Honduras, was arrested on an outstanding warrant charging him with failure to appear. He was held on $500 bond. Victims in the fight, which was reported at 11:39 p.m. Saturday, suffered minor injuries, police said.
