CUMBERLAND — The Cumberland Police Department is investigating a series of burglaries in which forced entry was made into vacant residences either being remodeled or listed for sale. Copper pipes and plumbing fixtures were taken from the homes.
The latest such incident was reported Tuesday in the 500 block of Bedford Street. Homes in the 900 block of Lexington Avenue and the 700 block of Montgomery Avenue were entered on Oct. 14, as was a house in the 300 block of Pulaski Street on Oct. 13.
Citizens are asked to be vigilant looking for suspicious activity around vacant homes and anyone in posession of large amounts of copper that may be related to these cases.
