LONACONING — A 22-year-old Cumberland resident was arrested Friday evening after losing control of a 1998 Chevrolet Cavalier on state Route 36 just north of Lonaconing, according to the Allegany County Bureau of Police.
Tye Piper was charged with driving under the influence, driving under the influence per se, driving while intoxicated and failure to control speed to avoid a collision.
Two passengers, 22-year-old Kara Inez Miller of Midland and 25-year-old Julie Lee Davis of Cumberland, were taken to Cumberland Memorial Hospital by Georges Creek and Frostburg ambulances. Further information concerning their injuries was unavailable Saturday night.
Piper and Cumberland resident James Anthony Mena, 29, refused treatment at the scene.
Volunteer firefighters from Lonaconing and Midland also rendered assistance.
