10/23 - City man arrested on various charges

CUMBERLAND — A Cumberland man was arrested on numerous charges Thursday during a traffic stop on Interstate 68 at Naves Cross Road, according to the Allegany County Sheriff’s Office.

Brian Russell Price, 37, was charged with four counts of violation of a protective order in addition to possession of a deadly weapon, possession of a controlled dangerous substance and three citations for hunting violations that allegedly occurred in Little Orleans.

Price was ordered held on $50,000 bond after an appearance before a district court commissioner Thursday afternoon.

Price was stopped by deputies following a lookout posted by Maryland State Police and Maryland Natural Resources Police for alleged hunting offenses in Little Orleans.

Police also advised that Price was believed to be armed with a shotgun in violation of two final protective orders issued by district court in Allegany County.

At the time of the stop, deputies found a shotgun, 74 rounds of ammunition, a slap jack weapon and controlled prescription medication not prescribed to Price.
